Busca: the churches
In Busca and in its sourroundings there are works of great artistic and historical value that tourists will be interested in visiting. First of all, the imposing cathedral dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, whose work began, after having beaten the previous church that survives the massive ancient bell tower in 1717 under the direction and plans of the famous architect Francesco Gallo and ended in 1728. The style is slightly baroque; paintings that adorn the vault are attributed to Dellamano, the fresco painter of the Church of the Annunciation (called “La Bianca i.e. “The White”), but have been retouched by Boasso in 1928. The largest fresco behind and above the altar, represents the Assumption of Our Lady. On the walls beside the main altar one can see two frescoes, one on the left depicting the marriage of the Virgin Mary, the one on the right the Virgin offering the doves in the Temple.
